Njabulo is the Chief Executive Officer of 2nd Avenue Capital, an investment holding firm. Before this, he was the Managing Director at BMFI Ltd, an investment firm with over R600 million under management. He was previously a partner at Treacle Private Equity, a venture capital and private equity firm. Treacle raised Fund I for IT and Telecommunications investments and Fund II, a general sector fund. Both funds ranked in the top quartile of their vintage years.
He began his career at Deloitte, New York, as a senior associate in assurance, where he later managed engagements for companies in diverse industries, including leveraged buyout funds. His professional experience includes capital raising, fund management, assessing and structuring investments, performing due diligence investigations, investment monitoring and realizations. He has concluded transactions in the manufacturing, IT, telecoms, services, food, and high-tech industries, among others, including service on boards of publicly traded and private companies as well as an assignment to the executive committee and board of the Southern African Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (SAVCA), where he co-authored and negotiated the private equity industry legislation with the Department of Trade and Industry.
His interests include supporting causes for social justice through his service on Sunfield Fortuna and the University of Fort Hare Foundation boards. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA).
